Project Designed by BAU in collaboration with:

The district of Qingu is 50 minutes from the centre of Shanghai. The district was settled on the water in the forms on the infamous ancient water towns and walled cities. Traditional brickwork, chinese scalloped roofs and canals make up the vernacular of the villages.  The Qingpu Performing Arts centre references the vernacular through materiality and form.
The Performing arts centre accommodates and 1200 seat grand theatre, concert hall, black box theatre, lecture hall and two exhibition halls.

During my time on the competition entry my duties included
  • Physical model making
  • Drawing plans and sections for concept ideas under instruction of project architects.
  • 3d modelling concept designs under instruction of project architects using Sketchup
  • Modelling of grand theatre and concert hall using Revit for interim submission
  • Produced site analysis diagrams and drawings for submission document.
