The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD) is set to establish a Translational Research Engine in Victoria, solidifying the state's position as a global destination for MedTech/HealthTech innovation. The primary objective of the project is to improve the ratio of better patient outcomes per healthcare dollar spent. The building will unite eight partner research and academic institutions, including St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), The University of Melbourne (UoM), St. Vincent's Institute of Medical Research (SVI), Bionics Institute (BI), Australian Catholic University (ACU), University of Wollongong (UoW), Swinburne University of Technology (SU), and RMIT University (RMIT).
